Bloody Maria with Pickled Veggie Skewer

Recipe yields 4 drinks

For the skewer:

  • 1 carrot, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1/2 red onion, cut into thick wedges
  • 2 jalapeno, sliced in half
  • 4 celery stalks
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • For the beverage:

  • Trader Joe's Bloody Mary Mix
  • Trader Joe's Zapopan Blanco Tequila
  • 2 dashes Jalapenot Pepper Hot Sauce
  • Trader Joe's Chile Lime Seasoning, for the rim
  • Directions:

      1. Do ahead (if you wish) in a container with lid, marinate onion wedges, carrot and jalapeno in one cup of white vinegar over night. Add a pinch of kosher salt to this mixture and some peppercorns. Soak at least two hours up to 24 hours.

      2. Wet rim of glass with lime. Scatter chile lime seasoning blend in dish, and roll rim into seasoning. Fill glass with ice then bloody mary mix, 2 ounces of tequila, and dashses of jalapeno hot sauce. Stir with celery stalk. Skewer pickled veggies and lime. Garnish.
